COMGRAF ALPHA CHITIN

ALHPHA CHITIN develops standardized products based on Hermetia illucens larvae, krill and mushrooms and offers a sustainable and fully traceable alternative to the production of chitin/chitosan currently produced from shrimp shell. Products with high added value that can be used in cosmetics, medical, environment and industry. Global demand for this material is now 3x greater than production capacity, while all the potential markets are not known.

Production of fully traced chitin and chitosan, cosmetic and pharmaceutical grade. Production of a biopolymer / polysaccharide as an animal or vegetal coproduct.

Chitin and chitosan produced from HI larvae:
- mostly amorphous, deacetylation rate between 25 and 98%
- very high molecular weights (> 1200 kDa)
Chitin and chitosan from krill source:
- very high crystallinity index (> 92%), deacetylation rate between 15 to 95%
- low to medium molecular weights (100 to 600 kDa)
- nanocrystals and nanofibrils
Chitin and chitosan from fungi source:
- mostly crystalline, deacetylation rate between 35 to 95%
- low molecular weights (< 200 kDa) Analytical and validation services on various types of chitin and chitosan.
