The Laboratory of Sciences for the Design, Optimization and Production of Grenoble (G-SCOP) was created in January 2007. It is the culmination in Grenoble of more than twenty years of experience of collaboration
multidisciplinary in the field of production systems. G-SCOP obtained the status of FRE CNRS in 2007, then following a mid-term evaluation, it became a UMR CNRS/UJF/Grenoble INP on January 1, 2009.
The G-SCOP laboratory depends on three supervisory authorities, Grenoble INP, an entity hosting the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the CNRS.

Produits, technologies & services
The research carried out at the G-SCOP laboratory is linked to the four major transitions highlighted by Grenoble INP: digital, industrial, energy and environmental. And the unit is attached to two of the four scientific departments of Grenoble INP:
