Activité
The ICSM is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 5257) between the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA), the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of Montpellier (UM) and the National School of Chemistry of Montpellier (ENSCM). Created in January 2007, the ICSM is made up of 8 research teams working in close collaboration.
It is also attached to the Balard chemistry center bringing together the 4 chemistry institutes of Montpellier including the European Institute of Membranes (IEM), the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM) and the Max Mousseron Institute of Biomolecules (IBMM).
Produits, technologies & services
The ICSM specializes in fundamental research around the processes of separation chemistry, extraction and purification, applicable to the entire current and future nuclear cycle, and extendable to the challenges of the circular economy.
A key player for its skills and technical equipment in the management and selective sorting of waste (electronic and electrical, considered strategic or polluting), the ICSM aims to develop innovative processes for the recycling and rational recovery of materials and metals.
