INSTITUT CHARLES GERHARDT MONTPELLIER (ICGM)

The ICGM contributes to the development of research in chemistry with the aim of developing and characterizing complex materials with functionalities with a strong societal impact, particularly in the fields of health, the environment and energy.

On a fundamental level, the priority of the ICGM is to ensure its identity at the highest international level in the themes of excellence of its research departments in the following five areas:
- Soft chemistry and molecular self-assembly for the preparation and multi-scale structuring of organic, inorganic, hybrid materials and biosourced materials,
- Macromolecular chemistry and advanced polymers,
- Surface functionalization, interfacial chemistry and physicochemistry applied to solid state electrochemistry, adsorption and catalysis,
- Quantum chemistry and the modeling of the properties of molecules up to those of systems,
- Solid state chemistry and crystal chemistry.
