FÉDÉRATION DES RECHERCHES EN ENVIRONNEMENT

The research activities of FRE are all in connection with the general concept of sustainable development. In this context, the preservation and management of natural resources are the main concerns of environmental problematic of sustainable development. These preservation and management activities need a deep knowledge of fundamental processes which govern natural ecosystems and the agroecosystems functioning but also to estimate the answers of these systems in front of global changes and anthropic pressure.

Research, observation, measures, analysis, sampling, remediation of the different environmental compartments.

The research project is structured around three themes in which multidisciplinary research actions involving several teams have been identified. The different systems studied are divided into two themes with different but complementary purposes:
- environments (aquatic, atmospheric) and natural ecosystems with a more specific purpose of management and protection,
- agro-ecosystems with a purpose centered on sustainable production.
These two themes will take into account the production of ecosystem services. The third theme is based on the modeling of the evolution of these systems up to the production of scenarios integrating the results obtained in the first two
