Edytem occupies an original place by addressing issues related to the environment in an approach that strongly integrates:
• A spatial dimension, in particular via the study of territories, geological structures, interlocking shapes, notions of scale
• A temporal dimension by reconstructing past evolutions through forms, fillings, natural and textual archives, archaeological sites.
• A social dimension by questioning the links between culture and nature, particularly in terms of the relationship to natural heritage and its enhancement or preservation.
• A "process" dimension by questioning in many cases the physical, biological and social processes that mark our environment and transform materials.
Questioning the relationships between societies and environments requires an interdisciplinary approach that is available at different laboratory scales.
