Activité
The Centre Technique du Papier (CTP) is an impact-driven organization and a key player in the ecological transition for the paper, board, fiber-based packaging and biomaterials industries. It supports companies and market players in adopting new materials, optimizing production and converting processes, and improving the environmental performance across the full life cycle of their products.
Equipped with pilot-scale platforms, CTP provides R&D, consulting, expert assessment, and laboratory and pilot services for the pulp, paper, board and related industries (including converters and printers).
Thanks to its expertise in fibers, recycling, plant-based chemistry and barrier solutions, it contributes to the development of sustainable alternatives to plastics and strengthens the competitiveness of the entire value chain.

Produits, technologies & services
CTP develops products and technologies—whether incremental improvements or radically new solutions—for all types of biomaterials. Its areas of expertise cover barrier solutions (water, grease, oxygen, food contact), functionalized biomaterials, and technical coatings. The center also designs technologies for advanced recycling, decontamination, biorefining, and broader biomass valorization.
CTP develops not only 2D products but also 3D ones using dry processes, wet processes (molded cellulose, cellulose foam, etc.), and injection-based technologies.
Thanks to its pilot platforms—coating, printing, bleaching, recycling, MFC lamination or chromatogeny—it enables the testing, optimization and pre-industrialization of high-performance, recyclable materials with low environmental impact, intended for markets such as packaging, transportation, luxury goods and green chemistry.
