Activité
Polyolefins represents 45% of global plastic production. Olefins are therefore the world's leading chemicals with 480 million per tons produced every year.
2024 is a turning point for the plastic recycling market : EU PPWR regulation adopted. EU PPWR imposes, among other things, 25% recycled content in Food Grade and Contact Sensitive packaging by 2040. This is only accessible by chemical recycling technologies.
A lack of solution for hard-to-recycle polyolefin wastes :
- Clean and separated rigid Polyolefins wastes are compatible with mechanical recycling
- Other Polyolefins wastes, considered as "Hard To Recycle", are incinerated or landfilled.
Bobine brings a new recycling offer on the market, complementary to the mechanical recycling.
Produits, technologies & services
Bobine’s technology, combining heterogeneous catalysis and electromagnetic induction heating, is the only technology that allows the production of virgin quality polyolefins without using steam cracking furnaces of petrochemical facilities.
Compared to other technologies in development, this translates into a 45% reduction in the production costs of recycled plastics.
Future Bobine plants will enable a reduction in CO2 emissions of 55% compared to its competitors and 85% compared to incineration, the main waste outlet today.
