In this training course, Ecofilae shares its experience and expertise to provide a practical and operational response to the needs of those involved in projects to reuse treated wastewater.

Who should attend?

  • Engineers, technical managers or elected representatives working in a local authority, in a department related to water, wastewater, the environment or technical services.
  • Managers of water treatment plants or water services.
  • Government departments (DDT, DREAL, ARS) involved in the water cycle and the environment.
  • Funding bodies

Learning objectives : ‍

  • Know how to support and defend your water reuse project
  • Learn about current regulations and how to apply them
  • Draw inspiration from existing projects in France and abroad, and discuss the ideas and projects of each learner.
  • Be able to implement a project from the idea stage through to operational and sustainable implementation.
  • Identify and manage risks (environmental, health, agronomic, economic, social, etc.).

Programme: ‍

1.  Introduction to the reuse of non-conventional water (NCW)

  • Definition of the types of NCW encountered (exhaustive overview of NCW)
  • Possible uses and inspiring and varied feedback
  • Regulatory framework applicable in France

2. Operational implementation of LWR projects

  • Infrastructure required (treatment, storage, network, etc.) ;
  • Choice of treatment
  • Assessing the risks and benefits: economic and financial, technical and regulatory, health and environmental, legal and organisational.
  • Know how to secure your project in terms of all these criteria.
    ‍‍‍‍

3.  Analysis of a case study

Among Ecofilae's references and operational projects, a real case of interest will be analysed in the form of supervised work in order to apply the various points covered during the training: players, drivers/brakes, source, resource issues, uses, regulations, possible reuse loops, economic analysis, governance, technical sector, difficulties encountered and solutions implemented, etc.

4.   Applying knowledge in the field: two options

  • Site visit to an operational water reuse project nearby (subject to the availability of the partner players)
  • Workshop on your projects/issues: Do you have a project, ideas or problems? We'll discuss them together, in the form of a workshop with the support of our experts.

Speaker(s): Ecofilae team made up of expert engineers in the various fields of water reuse (water management, irrigation, industry, swimming pools, water footprint, etc.).

Teaching methods and resources :

The teaching methods used will be as active as possible, using interactive and collaborative methods:

  • 35% Theoretical courses
  • 30% Analysis of a case study
  • 15% Tutorial work/problem solving
  • 20% Your projects/problems or field visits
  •
